We are very proud to offer a special expert panel with Mr. Dries van Agt, former Prime Minister of the Netherlands. Following his prime ministership, van Agt has become a strong voice for the Palestinian case in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. During the Autumn Convention, we will host an open discussion with van Agt concerning human rights violations in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The discussion will be moderated by Steffen Westerburger.

Guest Panel of the Atlantic Youth: Women’s Right’s in Conflict Situations

A special expert panel will be hosted by the Atlantic Youth. This panel will focus on Women’s Right’s in Conflict Situations and will consist of a Roundtable with Annie-Marie Zaat and Marianne Copier. Marianne Zaat is a representative of the Platform for Women and Sustainable Peace. The Platform for Women and Sustainable Peace coordinates the input of Dutch (women’s) organisations in the field of sustainable peace, advocates for a strengthening of the position of women and delivers a contextual contribution to national and international policy. Marianne Copier is the Secretary of the Atlantic Youth, a subcommittee of the Netherlands Atlantic Association. It aims to increase awareness among students and young professionals and to involve them more in common transatlantic security issues.

Our expert panel on Migration Rights will consist of Dr. Costica Dumbrava of Maastricht University, and Dr. Andrej Zaslove of the Radboud University Nijmegen. Dr. Costica Dumbrava is postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Executive Coordinator of the Maastricht Centre for Citizenship, Migration, and Development (MACIMIDE). Dr. Andrej Zaslove is Assistant Professor of Comparative Politics. His research and teaching interests are Comparative Politics, Comparative European Politics, Political Parties (with a special interest in populism and the radical right), and immigration (politics and public policy).
