UN human rights chief condemns Oklahoma execution of Clayton Lockett
When thinking about human rights violations, most us think of Syria or North Korea, but, when we are considering universal human rights, they can be violated anywhere. An example of this can be found in the recent botched execution of Clayton Lockett in Oklahoma. UN human rights chief Navi Pillay said that the process to which Clayton Lockett was subjected on Tuesday may have amounted to “cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment” under international human rights law.
